MAT (Multifocal Atrial Tachycardia)



Background

  • Tachycardic (HR>100) version of "wandering atrial pacemaker"
  • Irregular atrial tachy with multiple portions of atria acting as pacemakers (all transmitted)
  • >3 different P wave morphologies nut each P followed by a QRS
  • Usually sociaterd with COPD / pulmonarty disease
  • Does not need anticoagulation (treat the pulmonary disease)
