Indications for CT in stroke

Stroke is a clinical diagnosis.

Urgent brain imaging may be required if:

• Thrombolysis is an option considered
• There is a clinical deterioration in the patient's condition
• SAH is suspected
• Hydrocephalus 2° to intracerebral blood is suspected
• Trauma is suspected
• Any patient with bleeding tendency (including anticoagulation treatment)

IN CUH : Please request "Stroke Protocol" for potential thrombolysis cases. This ensures they will take priority over all other queued imaging requests.
