Blood Ketone Sampling
- Please ensure that children who require phlebotomy for hypoglycaemia or DKA please have an extra 0.5ml Lithium Heparin (orange top) sample sent to Biochemistry please for lab ketone assays
- This later helps Mx/Ix by our paediatric endocrinology colleagues in identifying inborn errors of metabolism (rather than re-inducing a hypoglycaemic episode in these children)
