Background
- Commonest cause lateral knee pain in runners
- overuse - repetative friction of ITB on lat. fem. condyle
Clinical
- Pain worse when foot hits the ground
- Recent increase in training (distance) or downhill running?
- Dx with history and positive Ober's test
Investigations
- None required
Management
- Initial relative rest, RICE, NSAIDs
- ITB stretching - physio referral
