Background

• U-47700 is synthetic recreational opioid(selective µ-opioid receptor agonist)
• x5 times as potent as morphine
• In Ireland, usually snorted (mistaken for cocaine), or IV

Management

1. - Airway (O₂) [±trauma precaution]
2. - Breathing (±BMV) ±Naloxone (IN / IM / IV)
3. - IV access only if no response to Naloxone
4. - Head injury or other neuro event (if seizure: likely other agent, not U-4)
5. - Other agent (Cocaine etc.)
